Biddy Buddies - $100

Walking to 18 months - Adult Participation Required
Welcome to a FUN experience with your 1-2 yr old. This letter is to acquaint you with the Biddy Buddy Class. In this class, the emphasis is on socialization skills, gross motor development and group participation.

Each class will meet in the waiting area. We will take roll and bring you into the gym. The first 10-15 minutes of class will be a FREE EXPLORATION time. The instructor will have an area of the gym set up with stations. You are free to explore the stations with your child. Some stations will be designed to develop gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and cognitive skills and to stimulate the senses. Following the free exploration time, we will have CIRCLE TIME. During circle time, we will introduce some basic positions and movement skills and patterns specific to gymnastics. Following circle time, the instructor will introduce EQUIPMENT CIRCUITS, where you will accompany your child through various activities. The teacher will show you the objectives of each task within the circuit, and also show you how to assist your child throughout the circuit. Remember, any attempt is a success. Feel free to clap and cheer for your child as well as others in the class. We will end class with an Ending Activity. This might include balls, hoops, ribbons, instruments, parachute and much more. Following our ending activity, we will play with bubbles and sing our "Bye, Bye" song.

The goals for this class are simple.
1. Share an enjoyable experience with your child.
2. Share experiences with other parents and caregivers who have children of the same age.
3. Teach our beginning walkers how to safely manipulate their environment and develop large muscle group.
4. Have fun watching the children grow and develop.

Children attending class for the first time may become over stimulated or overwhelmed. If your child becomes upset and you are unable to calm them (which will happen), please take a short break. Remove them from the gym area so that they are not a distraction to others and return when the child has calmed down. This is a common occurrence and parents should not feel embarrassed or discouraged.

If a different person is going to attend class with your child, please have them stop by the front desk and read and sign the "Active Helper and Liability Waiver" prior to entering class.

THE FIRST FEW WEEKS:
Many of the children have never been to a structured program. Our gym is full of active children and may be overwhelming to our youngest students. They may be very reluctant to try anything the first couple of weeks. This is okay! You will be amazed at how quickly they figure out how much fun this class can be. There are a lot of different developmental stages between 1 & 2 years. Please do not compare your child to another. Remember, any attempt is a success. Hug them a lot, praise them often and enjoy this time with your child.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
