Tumble-a-thon
March 9th
Jump Start Gymnastics is joining hundreds of other gymnastics facilities across the nation in a special event to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. This special event is the Tumble-A-Thon, where each child is asked to solicit donations or pledges for their participation in the event. During classes the week of March 9th, students will perform a specific skill for an amount of time and the total number of skills will be recorded (maximum 100). Students will then have until March 28th to collect their pledges or donations and turn them into Jump Start. Money must be turned in by March 28th to be eligible for prizes. All students who participate will be recognized at the Gym Show in May. Students who raise $50 or more will receive a t-shirt. The top three fundraisers will receive prizes awarded by local representatives from the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, a Children’s Miracle Network beneficiary. In addition to prizes, the top fundraiser will appear on the 2009 Children’s Miracle Network Telethon to present our check with last year’s top fundraiser, Caleigh Ludolph. Our goal as a gym is to raise $10,000! If every student raised just $15.00 we could do it! Please help us reach our goal!
Tumble-a-thon Donations due March 28th to be eligible for prizes!

Costume Week for Preschoolers
October 26-31
The week before Halloween (beginning October 26th through October 31st) we will be celebrating the holiday during classes. Preschool students are encouraged to wear their costumes to class. We will strive to take a group photo at the beginning of class, however, some evening classes may have photos taken later. Once photos are taken, costumes, or parts of costumes, may need to be removed to continue with class. Please discuss with your child items that will not be appropriate to wear during gymnastics class so they will not be surprised! We will also be handing out trinkets and/or treats, so please let your child’s teacher know if you would not like your child to receive a treat. School age students are asked not to wear costumes. They however will receive a treat at the end of class.
We will also be having a Camera Week during that week (Oct 16-31).

Camera Week
August 9-14
Why can't I take pictures or video of my child during all classes?
Answer: Unfortunately, in today's society pictures of children sometimes get used inappropriately. Jump Start wants to do its part to protect our children. Therefore, we cannot allow any unauthorized pictures or videotaping. We will have camera weeks at least two times in each session. You may bring cameras during those times and take as many pictures as you would like.
Answer: USA Gymnastics Safety guidelines prohibit the use of flash photography during gymnastics activities. Camera flashes can cause momentary blindness that could cause a fall or injury.
Answer: Cameras are distracting to our students when they are trying to focus on the instructors.
Thank you for your understanding.
