Piano Lessons

Taught by Elizabeth Nedza/Heidinger

Elizabeth Nedza/Heidinger studied piano, harpsichord, organ and music theory at the University of Arizona.  She received her Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and is working on her Master’s in Music Theory. Her teachers include; Nina Tishkevich, Nicholas Zumbro, Dr. June Chow-Tyne and Dr. Pamela Decker.

Elizabeth has taken piano pedagogy classes with Dr. Liza Zdechlik and has over six years of teaching experience.  She has taught at the Cecilia Whitby Piano Studio, the Arizona Academy of Music and Dance, teacher assisting in Music Theory at the University of Arizona, as well as running a private piano studio through the Casas Fine Arts Academy.  She is also a highly experienced church musician.

Elizabeth is willing to teach any genre of music and specializes in making music theory available to students of all ages.  Her teaching draws on the Russian method of piano playing, which works with body movement to achieve the most natural, accommodating position for each individual.

“My goal as a teacher is to show that anyone is capable of learning to play and theory is simple and symmetrical.  If a student doesn’t grasp a concept, it has nothing to do with his or her learning ability; it means the teacher needs to find a different way to explain it…everything can be learned.”
