Our school age girl’s gymnastics classes focus on teaching a carefully designed curriculum of progressive skills on the women’s artistic gymnastics events – Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor as well as on the TumbleTrak and trampolines. These classes for girls in Kindergarten and older build strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, and self-confidence while students are learning and having fun with the sport of gymnastics. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves and given the opportunity to celebrate accomplishments to form a strong sense of self.
ATTIRE: Girls must wear a leotard with no skirt attached to it and no tights. Tight fitting gymnastics shorts are allowed.
Red Level classes are 60-minute classes for girls enrolled in Kindergarten and up. This class takes them out of the continuous circuits of a preschool class and is for girls with little or no previous gymnastics experience. The class focuses on station work, learning basic gymnastics positions, mastering beginning red-level skills, and introducing orange-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor - rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and roundoffs; Balance Beam - walks, balances, and beginning jumps; Uneven Bars – gripping, casting, and swinging; Vault – hurdles, jumps, and squat-ons.
Orange Level classes are 60-minute classes for girls enrolled in kindergarten and up who have completed the red level. This class focuses on mastering orange-level skills and introducing yellow-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor - handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, and beginning limbering skills; Balance Beam - walks, balances, and jumps on high beam and handstands on low beam; Uneven Bars - pull-overs, casting, and back hip circles; Vault - dive rolls, straddle-ons, and beginning handspring drills.
Yellow Level classes are 60-minute classes for girls enrolled in first grade and up who have completed the orange level. This class focuses on mastering yellow-level skills and introducing green-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor – handstand rolls, intermediate limbering skills, and floor dance elements; Balance Beam – jumps, side handstands, leaps, and turns on low beam; Uneven Bars - pull-overs, casting, shoot throughs, and back hip circles; Vault - dive rolls, straddle-overs, and intermediate handspring drills.
Green Level classes are 60-90 minute classes for girls enrolled in first grade and up who have completed the yellow level. This class focuses on mastering green-level skills and introducing blue-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor – back handsprings, handstand rolls, bridge kick overs, and floor dance elements; Balance Beam – handstands, side handstands, and leaps and turns on high beam; Uneven Bars – tap swings, cast, sole circle dismounts, shoot throughs, and leg cuts; Vault - dive rolls, tuck throughs, and handstand, flat fall vaults.
Blue Level classes are 60-90 minute classes for girls enrolled in first grade and up who have completed the green level. This class focuses on mastering blue-level skills and introducing purple-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor – front and back handsprings, round off back handsprings, back extension rolls, walk overs, and floor dance elements; Balance Beam – cartwheels, handstands, side handstand dismounts, and leaps and turns on high beam; Uneven Bars – kips on high and low bar, squat on, front and back hip circles, and front mill circles; Vault – front handspring vaults.
Violet Level classes are 60-90 minute classes for girls enrolled in first grade and up who have completed the blue level. This class focuses on mastering violet-level skills and introducing gold-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor – front and back handsprings, round off back handspring series, standing back handspring series, back extension rolls, walk overs, and floor dance elements; Balance Beam – cartwheels, handstands, side handstand dismounts, and leaps and turns on high beam; Uneven Bars – kips on high and low bar, squat on, front and back hip circles, tap swings, and front mill circles; Vault – front handspring vaults, half on vaults, and punch fronts.
Gold Level classes are 60-90 minute classes for girls enrolled in first grade and up who have completed the violet level. This class focuses on mastering gold-level skills. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor – front and back handspring series, round off back handspring series, round off back handspring back tucks, standing back tucks, punch fronts, and floor dance elements; Balance Beam – round offs, back walk overs, back handsprings, punch front dismounts, and leaps and turns on high beam; Uneven Bars – sets of kips on high and low bar, drop kips, casts, clear hips, and flyaway dismounts; Vault – round off rebounds to resi, Yurchenko vaults onto resi, and half on, half off vaults.
Prerequisite: Must be recommended by an instructor and approved by the school age director
Hot Shots is a 990-minute, twice weekly class for 4-6 years old girls who meet certain criteria in strength, maturity, and ability to perform beginning level gymnastics skills and drills. This class is designed to prepare gymnasts to enter into the competitive team development program. Kinder Stars are introduced to and expected to learn new skills at a more rapid pace. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor - handstands, cartwheels, round offs, and limbering skills; Balance Beam - walks, balances, and jumps on high beam and handstands on low beam; Uneven Bars - pull-overs, casting and back hip circles; Vault - dive rolls, straddle-ons, and beginning handspring drills.

Rising Stars is a 120-minute, twice weekly class for 6-8-year-old girls who meet certain criteria in strength, maturity, and ability to perform beginning level gymnastics skills and drills. This class is designed to prepare gymnasts to enter into the competitive team development program. Shooting Stars are introduced to and expected to learn new skills at a more rapid pace. Students will learn the following key skills: Floor - handstands, cartwheels, round offs, and limbering skills; Balance Beam - walks, balances, and jumps on high beam and handstands on low beam; Uneven Bars - pull-overs, casting and back hip circles; Vault - dive rolls, straddle-ons, and beginning handspring drills.
